Hello everyone,
Before I share with you my experience of the Wadi Degla walk, I would
like to take this opportunity to thank Maged for organizing the
lovely boat trip. We were blessed with the wonderful warmth of the
sun and company. It was lovely meeting many SS members, some I knew
and others I got to know for the first time. You are all lovely
human beings.

Today I joined Mabrouk and some SS members in the Wadi Degla walk. I
didn't know what to expect. For sure it exceeded all my
expectations. To have such beauty and serenity so close to the busy
and noisy city is fantastic. We got a panoramic view of the wadi /
valley (correct me on the technical terminology ya Mabrouk) from top
which was breathtaking. I kept imagining the water running through
the rocks and the huge waterfall splashing down. How I wished to
have been there! We started our climb down to the valley and walked
through a crack between the rocks. This was my favorite part. I
called it the Dive Walk. It reminded me of diving through the corals
in the sea. Smooth rocks, a wide array of plantation (amazing with
the beginnings of sprouting flower buds in yellow and purple), what
seemed like snail shells and some fossilized shells. We saw animal
prints, dogs or we wanted to imagine and believe they were foxes or
wolves!! We kept walking in the valley and stopped for a few minutes
just to listen to the sound of silence or maybe something moving in
the bushes. How meditative. We then climbed up a hill following an
animal track. We got another panoramic and breath-taking view of the
extension of the valley. We all just sat there in silence (with a
couple of mobile interruptions!!! yes, there was a link to the
civilized world, ha amazing) But what serenity and beauty. Sobhan
Allah. We then walked back to where we started from. I really,
really enjoyed this beautiful day. A day in touch with NATURE and
its beauty and many splendors.

P.S. I would like to make a suggestion for a future project and that
is to organize a "Clean-Up Day" for the area of the rock crack and
the first descend area. Unfortunately, there were thousands of
plastic bags everywhere, which have flown into the valley from God
knows where and have rested between the rocks. It is an absolute
environmental shame.
