Sorry for the repetition guys for those who are receiving it twice.

Dear Friends,

Many of you have sent me off-list trying to understand
either what is a hike in Egypt or how is it like to
hike in this country's mountains.

Beside the Nile Safari that will be done Fri, Saturday
will see another event for those of you who wishes to
join (seems that there will be little sun and no rain
as Waleed brought to our attention CNN's forecast).

This is your chance to try the closest thing to a
hike. It'll be a walk in Wadi Digla for a little bit
over an hour. Maybe if you like it you can start a
seris of hiking in Egypt's mountains. :)

Time to meet: From 12:30pm to 1:00pm Saturday 12 Jan.
Expect you'll return by 4:00pm back to meeting point.

Meeting point: Maadi's Mo'men near Autostrade

What to bring: training shoes that could get muddy or
dusty. Some warm clothes but not too warm since you'll
feel warm during the walk. Bottle of water. Wear jeans
becuase you will be sitting on rocks.

Important Notes:
-we'll take route that 'normal' cars could follow so
you can plan on taking it to starting point.

-for the walk, we'll jump (or slide) down few rock
steps at the canyon at starting point, walk our way at
the bottom on flat ground for a while, might walk up a
side before we finally head back to where we started
to take cars back to Maadi.

-Beware! Although the walk is not dangerous, the
terrain is not flat and we'll be crossing many slopes.

-There is wildlife there and no cars noise, so you're
expected to speak softly to others and refrain from
shouting. In fact, try to refrain completely from
talking or you won't be seeing the canyon's beauty
that includes natural bushes and beautiful rock forms
and maybe a gazelle like my lucky brother once saw.

-This walk is quite easy and doesn't need much fitness
even if you don't like to walk normally in streets.
Don't expect to go without panting. But don't let
tiring parts of the walk distract you from a
'breathtaking' view.

-You MUST call me ASAP to inform of names joining. I
need to know how many of us to expect.

-Some points here are subject to modifications as this
is the first time to lead people into a walk in nature
although I know that some of us here in SS know much
of Wadi Digla by heart.

See you in Nile Safari and Wadi Digla Walk.

Salaam,
Mohamed Mabrouk
