The newsletter is for colleagues who are interested in GIS, remote
sensing, and data management issues in Africa (online data discovery,
web mapping, interoperability, data custodianship, data standards,
enabling legislation, inter-agency coordination, etc.). Each month,
highlights from countries are provided, as well as information about
data sources, tools, RS/GIS applications, funding and training
opportunities, job vacancies, and upcoming events. The newsletter
aims to raise awareness and provide useful information to strengthen
local and national SDI initiatives, as well as support
synchronization of regional activities.
