Hatoon and everyone,
Many thanks Hatoon for inviting me to be part of your
group. Sorry I have not contributed to the emails
going back and forth for some time, well that is
because I have'nt checked my yahoo account for quiete
a while.
To introduce myself to everyone (aside from Hatoon) my
name is Azza Shelbaya from Egypt. I work as a
financial analyst in British Gas.. I joined BG just a
year ago.. before that I spent 4 years working in the
office of the minister of economy.. so i've been in
the so called Egyptian beaureacratic "kitchen" and I
guess I can reflect a lot on the very details of what
goes on in the government sector.
I studied economics in American Univeristy in Cairo
then in Manchester , M.A. there is actually how I got
to know Hatoon, when I used to attend anthropology and
political debates that she was part in organizing.. we
also used to meet in the mosque on Friday :)
OK thats a little summary about me.. hope to know more
about all the rest of you.. I'm sure this is going to
be an intersting circle of intellectual friends.
Please if anyone passes by Cairo just drop me an email
and I'd be v. glad to show you around.. I also like
sports if you'd like to join me.
Thanks everyone
Salam
Azza
