Hi
My name is Nemir Alazzawi, Lead GIS Developer at prominent Canadian
medical registries, such as Canadian Stroke Registry (CSN) ,
Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) and Canadian
Cardiovascular Research Team (CCORT), and other GIS centric
healthcare solutions, as they pertain to decision and policy support
for essential medical issues such as chronic disease trends,
treatments and outcomes. The GIS driven solutions are often made
available to wide audiences and stakeholders at the healthcare
executive levels.

Several of the GIS solutions led by me encompass the largest studies
of its kind, such as the Canadian Cardiovascular Atlas, which impact
medical policies on a provincial as well as national level. I have
been invited to present on the topic of "GIS and Healthcare" at the
2006 E.S.R.I. User Conference, held in Toronto, Canada on October 12,
2006. Furthermore, my work and corresponding articles have been
published at ArcNorth E.S.R.I. Magazine "Mapping Cardiovascular
Disease in Canada", available online at:

http://www.esricanada.com/english/info/vol7-no2_news.asp

I am planning to visit the Middle East in the second half of October,
2006 and would like to connect with GIS stakeholders and specialists
at healthcare organizations, research institutes and health
ministries. I am offering myself to conduct presentations and
demonstrate the progress achieved in Canada as it pertains to GIS
centric healthcare solutions and its overwhelmingly positive
influence on healthcare research, treatment and outcomes. I want to
explore how this model of success can be implemented in the Middle
East in order to push the healthcare system forward.

Specifically, I am planning to tour Jordan, Qatar, Dubai, and other
areas where an interest for an interchange of information exists.

Dear Nemir

I commend you for your work in combining health and GIS. I work for ESRI since 1993 as an instructor teaching its software. Four years ago I started teaching part-time at Loma Linda University - Public Health Department a course in GIS cartography. I teach it about once or twice a year when I am not commited to travel for ESRI teaching.

Your Middle East tour is so timely and offers a unique opportunity. If you could only arrange your trip to be close to the ESRI Middle East Users Conference which will be held in Amman, Jordan October 31-Nov. 2. Hoping to meet you there.

You can also correspond with ESRI's distributor in Amman Mr. Mazen Jouaneh (Infograph) who might have some connections to the Health departments in Jordan where he can arrange some meetings/presentations. See attachment. http://www.infograph.com.jo/meauc/contactus.html

Since this e-mail is going to all GIS Caf? members, I am sure countries, othger than Jordan that may be interested in your expertise would contact you for a possible visit and delivery of your valued presentations.

Wishing you all the best.

Dear Nemir

Asslamo Alikoum

As per the hotels, please visit www.qatar.com ,
where you will find varieties of hotels with different prices, you can
select and make online reservation.

As per the time you specified (6-7 Nov.); I think this is very short
note, as I requested earlier give me enough time in advance, at least
two weeks, so that I can arrange with relevant people; all relevant
people are not belonging to my organization, we have to communicate with
them and give them the demo date in advance.

Also, I need you to help specify who should attend this demo, what will
be the contents of your demo so that we can invite the relevant people.

Looking for receiving your new schedule.

Thanks

Hi Mohammed
Sorry for the short notice, I would expect to see
audience from disease surveillance, population Health,
interested GIS people, physician or design maker to
explore how GIS could improve Health care.
The objective of my presentation:
?To automate the aggregation of geo-referenced health
data and improve national access to spatial health
information.
?To provide Geo-Spatial database by combining data
from several sources such as administrative, clinical,
and population health survey databases

The subject of my presentation is "Using GIS to
describe the influence of geography on cardiovascular
disease and cardiac care in Canada" and to have an
open discussion on how that could be implemented some
where else.
To learn more about my presentation check the file
attached for part of my presentation.
Let me know please if you think it?s hard to invite
the right people or if there is no interest on the
material of my presentation.

Thanks

Dear Nemir

Thanks for your email, material you have sent and subject looks very
interesting, we can arrange inviting the people you have mentioned.

Now, I think the best time for such demo is either the third week of
November, or third or fourth week of December, or you can select time
after December if you like. You know that Asian Games will be held in
Doha during the first half of December.

So decide the time and let me know earlier in advance as I mentioned
before (two weeks prior) so that I can arrange.

Hi
My name is Nemir Alazzawi, Lead GIS Developer at prominent Canadian medical registries, such as Canadian Stroke Registry (CSN) , Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) and Canadian Cardiovascular Research Team (CCORT), and other GIS centric healthcare solutions, as they pertain to decision and policy support for essential medical issues such as chronic disease trends, treatments and outcomes. The GIS driven solutions are often made available to wide audiences and stakeholders at the healthcare executive levels.

Several of the GIS solutions led by me encompass the largest studies of its kind, such as the Canadian Cardiovascular Atlas, which impact medical policies on a provincial as well as national level. I have been invited to present on the topic of "GIS and Healthcare" at the
2006 E.S.R.I. User Conference, held in Toronto, Canada on October 12, 2006. Furthermore, my work and corresponding articles have been published at ArcNorth E.S.R.I. Magazine "Mapping Cardiovascular Disease in Canada", available online at:

http://www.esricanada.com/english/info/vol7-no2_news.asp

I am planning to visit the Middle East in the second half of October,
2006 and would like to connect with GIS stakeholders and specialists at healthcare organizations, research institutes and health ministries. I am offering myself to conduct presentations and demonstrate the progress achieved in Canada as it pertains to GIS centric healthcare solutions and its overwhelmingly positive influence on healthcare research, treatment and outcomes. I want to explore how this model of success can be implemented in the Middle East in order to push the healthcare system forward.

Specifically, I am planning to tour Jordan, Qatar, Dubai, and other areas where an interest for an interchange of information exists.
