Dear all,

Firstly I want to thank you Hatoon for initiating this important group and
take this opportunity to briefly introduce myself.

I live in Manchester and have a degree in IT, Masters in Middle Eastern
Studies and just completed PhD on the "Dynamics of Identity Construction:
The Case Study of the Syrian Muslims of Manchester". I am originally half
Syrian half Iraqi with roots back to Saudi ... cocktail ;)

I am extremely looking forward to the developments of this group and read
with great interest. I am not quite sure who is on the membership list as
its still not accessible, nevertheless I am sure that most of us know each
other.

So wish you all warm greetings and God willing this group will flourish.

Sunduss

Dear Sundus and Mahsheed, and all,

Thank you for participating.

The members Sudndus are in majority our colleagues from MES dept. but there are some others from the Univ in general, and otheres from the UK in general with whom we had mutual interests. In addition to some guests from other universities whom I believe are assid to our list. I still don't know how to make all memeber's names showing in the web site of the group but I'll try to find out the way.

I'd like to pass on an article that was just published today on the municipal elections in Saudi. I'm passing it on because it is published in English. (Easier I know :)

Assalamualaykum

It's a great idea to know who is on the membership list. Of course most of us still remember each other but its difficult to identify merely through e mail addresses. Some of us are not using their actual name, like me....

All good wishes to all friends and colleagues
