Thank you Sahar and other Shellaweyas, and Ramadan Karim !

Your answers were very intersting and the sites given in reference are
wonderful. Seraching from their links I discovered an Hajj terminology
which gives more info on Al-Ihram and other sides of the holy pilgrimage.

I'm very happy to meet such great lovers of Egypt, and I'll try to make a
poll about the SEVEN SOUVENIRS ; I mean to answer to this question :
I'm a foreigner who wants to bring back from Egypt 7 souvenirs, symbolising
the very quotidian life of modern egyptians. I mean no albaster pyramids,
nor nefertiti's papyrus or faked MOP-boxes ;-))

I asked a friend of mine, who made that check-list :

1. a CD of Um Kolthum
2. a packet of Cleopatra
3. a fawanis (simpler one, not music-box)
4. a box of karakady
5. a little flag of Zamalek soccer
6. the photo of fessikh (coz the problems with others travelers'noses)
7. a mulid doll

Dear Shellaweyas,
i'm intersetde to know what is Your own check-list of the 7 souvenirs, that
symbolise Modern Egypt...
Thanks a lot.
